Our second investigation involved adult Greek-Dutch bicultural individuals who live in the Netherlands. Monocultural comparison groups in the Netherlands and Greece again served as control groups. In total more than 400 individuals participated.
Cultural differences were extracted from the responses of the monocultural participants in Greece and the Netherlands. In this way we identify the culture-bounded patterns of associations related to certain concepts. The critical hypothesis was whether bicultural participants under cultural priming may also reconstruct the culturally depended patterns. In addition, it was examined whether the bicultural participants evaluate personal and collective self in similar ways to the self-evaluations of the monocultural groups or they do differ significantly.
